Patient appointments kept getting canceled,
but of course, I still had to go in to the clinic.
That's the life of a dentist, rain or shine.
With a bit more free time on my hands, I found myself once again browing through styleitaliano.org.

when it comes to anterior resin restorations,
I usually don't begin treatment on the first visit. Instead, I take that time to focus on planning and discussing the costs with the patient.
These treatments can take up to an hour, and I want to make sure I'm fully focused when the time comes.
That was the plan this time as well. But this patient had traveled such a long way to see me - I couldn't just sent him home without doing anything.
This patient wanted to close the middle diastema. I asked, "when did the gap between your front teeth start?" He said it was fine when he was younger, but it gradually widened as he got older.
As we get older, if molars are lost or become severely worn down, it can affect the overall balance of the bite. That imbalance can lead to changes in the front teeth-like gaps forming between them, just like in this case.
In cases like this, even if we restore the front teeth with resin or veneers,
there's still a high chance the gap will reopen over time. If you really want to prevent the teeth from separating again, we can connect the two teeth with splinted crowns - a bridge.
However, the patient didn't want to have his teeth prepared, and he was hoping for a treatment that could be done immediately.
Fortunately, I had an open slot in my schedule,
so I was able to do the treatment for him today, just a he wanted.
Unfortunately, I didn't document the procedure with step-by-step photos this time,
so there's not much I can share in terms of the technical details. That said,
the patient was very satisfied with the outcome- and I was grateful to see that he went on to refer several others to our clinic.
I hope the restoration serves him well for a long time, both functionally and esthetically. It's always rewarding to help patients feel more confident in their smiles.
